Merry Christmas!
I’ve been reading Because I Said So these days and the one thing I keep thinking is: (my fellow scrappers will laugh at this) that would be so awesome to print all those entries and make a scrapbook!!
And although I’m not anything near as good a writer as she is, I’m going to try it. Heck, at the very least maybe I’ll actually post once in while!
We had a great Christmas, I hope you all did as well. I talked to my big brother last night, well, tried to, he had a hard time talking because he was laughing so hard with delight at my oh-so-not-happy response to the gift he got my boys. It sounds pretty harmless -a nerf tag game- but names can be deceiving. It comes with vests (to be used worn as targets), goggles, and massive nerf guns. Now this game would be fine if it weren’t for the impossible-to-resist attraction of shooting the “other guy” when they aren’t “playing.” Which inevitably ends up with the “injured” party coming to me and a LOT of yelling at the injustice of it all. Then there are the inappropriate shots, you know, aimed at areas deamed to be off limits. Top that off with nerf ammo in every single room of the house; if you have a nerf gun in your house, you totally know what I’m talking about. He also got me a packett of health products labelled “tired old ass”. The sad thing I wasn’t even offended. Cause it IS tired! This same brother got my son an Ant Farm for his birthday…. I’ve been thinking about possible gifts for his kids next year like a Chemistry Set, or a full set of drums, or maybe a real bow and arrow….
The kids also got this new game called Viva Pinata. Ever heard of that? Its a game for the 360 xbox. Its a great game because there are no guns, first person shooters, etc. There is a garden you have to cultivate in order to attract new and exotic animals. Then when you are fortunate to attract some worms or doenuts or cinamonkey or sparrowmint or lickatoad you can romance them. Yes, that’s right -romance them. Then, if done correctly, they will do a Romance Dance, which if done correctly will result in an egg. Where do they come up with this stuff??
